Epson Media Center - Live Site Image Gallery & Image Cart System
Epson Media Center, is the Media Center Section of the Epson Regional Sites.
Epson had a page with all the product images downloadable as a single zip file. The problem with that approach is, Journalists and Publishers who are interested in product images, must go through 100's of MBs of product images and see the zip file and find the product images they are interested in. Which is like downloading 1/2 GB of various zip files and finding the image they want. A typical search for a needle in hay stack approach.
Sivrin Technologies devised a solution. We re architected, the existing Livesite / Teamsite platform, to allow the Web Authors to upload Zip files. The system will automatically Unzip the files, create Thumb Nail and normal images and create a gallery, which can be viewed conveniently by Publishers and Journalists. They can then choose the images they want in a shopping cart style system. After thatm they can key in their details, to receive an email containing High Resolution Images for only the products they have choosen. This is very convenient for Journalists and Publishers also, Epson can follow organized process to distribute High Resolution Images.
The Media Center Section, not only has Image Distribution mechanism, it also has press releases section, with news filtering. The whole system is completely content managed and very easy to manager and browse.
It is implemented for 5 Country Websites and used by users from those countries. Epson Media Center
